Well what a year that was! Now 2021 has started I have found myself with new creative energy and ideas for the rest of the year. 2020 was such a rollercoaster of a year that I am determined to make this year a goodin', whatever it throws at us! I have been goal setting and have kicked off this year with a drawing challenge to get the creative juices flowing and which will form the bases of some new print ranges for the year. Here are the first few days of my January art challenge #animalatoz where I am drawing an animal a day and working my way through the alphabet. If you head over to my instagram account @suziecumming you can follow my progress. Click on the image below and it will take you right there!
The idea is to create a new collection of children's wall art in February from all these new animal drawings so check back next month for progress!
At the beginning of 2021 I found a new love and that was printing with gelli plates. This has been on my to do list for a while and I have finally made my own plate and have produced a bunch of prints. Now it is a permanent fixture in my studio, ready to go whenever I have a spare half an hour! Here is a quick video of my gelli plate and making a ground and a few examples of the prints below.
And one more peek of what is to come over the next few months. I will be launching a new collection of original paintings and prints, some of which were inspired by last years #landscapeaday instagram challenge. Here are a couple of them below.
